E.J. Viso heading for Andretti?

Venezuelan racer and IZOD IndyCar Series veteran E.J. Viso appears set to land his biggest opportunity to date in American open-wheel racing.

Viso, entering his sixth year on the circuit, is now being pegged as the man set to take over the vacant fourth ride at Andretti Autosport according to a report from Autoweek — which says an announcement is expected from the Andretti camp on Wednesday.

He'll be counted on to raise his game alongside series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay, James Hinchcliffe and Marco Andretti. Viso has yet to win a race in IndyCar, and is coming off a 20th place effort in last year's championship for KV Racing Technology that saw a high-water mark of fifth place in Milwaukee.

To Viso's credit, he managed to keep largely out of trouble; two of his three DNFs on the season (his lowest number in a single IndyCar campaign) were due to mechanical issues.
