One day and 14 engine penalties later, INDYCAR has finally revealed the official starting grid for today’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach (3:30 pm ET, NBC Sports Network). All 11 Chevrolet-powered drivers, plus Lotus-powered drivers Sebastien Bourdais, Katherine Legge and Oriol Servia, have been issued 10-spot penalties on the grid due to unapproved engine changes.
An interesting note: All but one Chevy driver — Panther Racing’s J.R. Hildebrand — will begin the race on the primary “black” Firestone tires, while all but one Honda driver — Rahal Letterman Lanigan’s Takuma Sato — will start out on the option “red” tires.
