#SaoPauloIndy: Practice One

Written by Christopher Estrada on .

The Sao Paulo Indy 300 event weekend got underway this morning in Brazil, with the first practice session led by Will Power. The IndyCar championship leader and winner of the last two events threw down a time of 82.3875 seconds on his final lap of the session to take the top spot. Behind him were the two Target Chip Ganassi Racing pilots, Dario Franchitti and Scott Dixon.

Honda got a big win heading into the weekend when a panel upheld INDYCAR's decision to approve a new compressor cover to the single turbocharger that the Japanese manufacturer uses. Time will tell if that helps them earn their first win of the season in Sao Paulo, but in this session, four of the top 5 cars were Honda-powered...all except the one in front.
