1. Tweets of Fury! Starring Tomas Scheckter, Alex Tagliani, Graham Rahal and Ryan Briscoe

The Honda Indy Toronto was an ugly but entertaining race. Then it got even more dicey on Twitter as Tomas Scheckter and Alex Tagliani proceeded to continue their feud stemming from the contact they had together on Lap 73. Graham Rahal and Ryan Briscoe also went at it with dueling tweets, since the former punted the latter on Lap 60. Social media fights can be fun to watch, but two days later, I get the vibe that many in the fanbase would’ve preferred to see this animosity caught on ABC cameras (a la Tony Kanaan vs. Sam Hornish Jr. and Sr. from a few years back). I find myself in agreement with them. MINUS 5.

2. Will Power is killin’ it. Just. Killin’. It.

Seriously, he could effectively end this season’s championship before IndyCar gets back to the ovals in late August. The Team Penske driver simply ascends to another level on street courses and this weekend, we’re heading to Edmonton, where he beat the tar out of the field last year as a part-time driver. Personally, I think it’s the banana and honey sandwiches. Maybe his rivals need to go that route and create a sandwich that can serve as edible Kryptonite for the Aussie driver. Rotten apples and Robitussin, maybe? EVEN.

3. More momentum for the #parkmilka movement

Over the weekend, IndyCar CEO Randy Bernard chipped in his two cents on Milka Duno’s embarrassingly slow pace throughout the season (she didn’t put down a qualifying time on Saturday and on Sunday, she was parked after eight laps). It’s not surprising to hear his criticism. After all, you can’t really say that your series has the best drivers in the world if one of them continues to be a rolling chicane week in and week out. PLUS 5.

4. Toronto event continues to re-build

Looked like a much bigger crowd at Exhibition Place this year and everybody’s saying the big event ‘vibe’ was back too. But it’s going to take some time for this event to get closer to what it was like in its heyday. And thus, it’s doomed to fail. Don’t question it! PLUS 5.

5. Jam for the ladies

It’s probably correct to say that not many people were expecting to see Danica Patrick and Simona de Silvestro finish ahead of the likes of Helio Castroneves, Scott Dixon, and Toronto’s own Paul Tracy. I’m just glad I didn’t make a bet out of it and went against the two women. If you did both of these things…I’m sorry for you. PLUS 3.

6. The Hard Luck Award goes to…

Justin Wilson, who lost the lead on a restart at Lap 72 to Will Power and then spun out later on the same lap — forcing him to cut through a sizable chunk of the field in the closing laps just to finish seventh. This race looked like one that was going to Wilson, who drove well and had a strong car throughout the weekend. Bummer for him and his Dreyer and Reinbold team. MINUS 5.

This week’s tally: +3 beans.

Season tally (after 10 races): +50 beans.
